Our Story
We run music, arts, and cultural workshops designed to uplift and empower. Every beat made, story told, and connection formed at Twenny47 Studios is part of our bigger purpose: To inspire the next generation through creativity, cultural pride and self-expression.
Whether you're here to record your first track, join a creative program or host an event, Twenny47 Studios is a space where everyone is respected, supported and heard.

Our studio is a space for young artists, producers, engineers, DJs and storytellers to:

Connect with mentors and opportunities
Be seen, supported and celebrated
Express themselves artistically
At Twenny47 Studios, we prioritise First Nations voices. This space is about self-determination, cultural pride and creating real bridges between community, talent and industry.
Every time someone walks through the doors, they’re stepping into a space built with purpose to empower, uplift and create lasting change.
When you book the studio, sponsor a program, or partner with us, you’re not just supporting a business - you’re investing in the next generation of First Nations creatives and helping build a more inclusive, representative creative industry.
There’s no shortage of talent in our communities, but there has been a shortage of access. Twenny47 Studios is here to change that.
– Kobie Dee
Yaama, my name is Kobie Dee.
I’m a proud Gomeroi man and hip hop artist. Storytelling has always been my way of sharing truth, building connection and inspiring change. Music helped me find my voice and now I’m using that voice to create space for others.
I founded Twenny47 Studios in the heart of my community - Lexington Place, Maroubra. This is more than just a studio. It’s the kind of space I wish I had growing up. A professional, culturally safe, First Nations-owned and operated hub where young people, especially Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander creatives can learn, grow and be heard.
Over the past five years, I’ve worked with young people across NSW from Bourke to Moree, in detention centres, schools, and community settings to deliver workshops that use music as a tool for healing, expression and connection. I’ve seen the incredible talent in our communities, but I’ve also seen the barriers - lack of access, cultural safety and real industry pathways.
Twenny47 Studios is my response to that.
why twenny47?
Twenny47 is more than just a name - it’s a statement of identity, purpose and pride.
It represents Lexo - Maroubra, the community that raised me. It speaks to where I come from, where I’m going and who I’m taking with me. It’s about connection to culture, to people and to something bigger than yourself.
Twenny47 is a mindset - about putting in the work, staying grounded in where you’re from, showing up for community, creating opportunities and not stopping until the job’s done.
At its core, Twenny47 is about hustling with heart, leading with pride and building a future where First Nations creativity and self-determination are front and centre.
First Nations First
Twenny47 Studios is a proudly First Nations-led space, grounded in truth-telling, respect, and cultural strength.
We prioritise the voices, stories and experiences of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in all that we do.
We expect all facilitators, staff, visitors and volunteers to actively uphold this commitment through respectful practice, interactions, ongoing learning, and community accountability.
This is more than a value, it’s shared responsibility.
Be a Change Maker
Your support doesn’t just keep our doors open - it opens doors for others. Every booking helps young people discover their voice, build their skills and shape their future.
Whether you're booking the space, sponsoring a program or becoming a partner, you're not just paying for a service or just giving - you're investing in self-determination, in community and in the next generation of storytellers, artists and leaders.
Your support puts funding directly back into the community, enabling us to deliver free, professional, culturally safe programs to young people who need them most. It ensures that First Nations voices are not only heard - but nurtured, celebrated and empowered.
A dream partnership
Twenny47 Studios wouldn’t be what it is today without the support of some truly remarkable people who believed in the vision from the very start. Two of those people are Max and Tony from TAG. They’re not just investors - they’re genuine collaborators and friends.
From day one, they showed up with open ears and open hearts. They listened deeply to me and my team, taking on board our feedback, ideas and vision. They made a real effort to understand our purpose, the community and the kind of space we were dreaming to create.
Their support went far beyond funding. They embraced the vision, honoured our values and played a key role in turning this dream into something real and lasting.
By acquiring the building and giving us the freedom to renovate, call the shots and truly make it our own, Max and Tony didn’t just back the vision - they helped make Twenny47 Studios ours.
I’m really proud to say that together, we’ve created something powerful in the heart of South-East Sydney - a creative space built on trust, respect and shared purpose.
